There has been a lot of discussion this week surrounding favoritism of calls for the Chiefs. Granted, some of these calls can truly swing the in-game momentum and lead to a different outcome.
Of course no one can lecture me about bad officiating in the playoffs. The Saints suffered from a missed pass interference call which would have sent my team to a second Super Bowl.
The point I am making is that these calls change history. They change legacies and how players, coaches, and teams will be remembered. It is something that the NFL needs to look into, especially when words like game fixing and conspiracies start to make the rounds in the mainstream.
Today feels like another potential huge day for Josh Allen, the Bills organization, and the city of Buffalo. Bills Mafia suffered in the 90s and weren’t able to get that elusive Super Bowl win after four consecutive tries. Just as Jim Kelly couldn’t get over that final hump, Josh Allen is trying to get over the Mahomes hump.
Remember, many great players never won a championship due to facing players like Tom Brady and Michael Jordan. Mahomes is currently on that pace and tier.
For Allen, Bills Mafia, and all of Buffalo, the question is…
If not now, when?
Just like the NFC, I’m looking forward to watching this back and forth battle. Good luck to whichever team you decide to pull for.
