Bringing Belief Back to the D…
At the halfway point in the 2025 MLB season, Detroit currently holds a 9.5 game division lead in the AL Central over the Cleveland Guardians and a 2.5 game lead in the AL over the Houston Astros. This is good enough for the Tigers to be priced at +250 to win the AL Pennant which puts them behind only the Yankees (+200) on the board. Detroit is also priced at +800 to win the World Series behind the Dodgers (+250) and Yankees (+600).
If you flash back three months, you may notice a major difference in the pricing. Prior to the season, Detroit was priced at +260 to win the AL Central, +1300 to win the AL Pennant, and +3500 to win the World Series.
Timing in sports betting is key as value is more than likely to change over time. In this case, fans of the Tigers are excited that it could be another year like 2012 or 2006 when Jim Leyland was managing the team. In both of those seasons, Detroit won the AL Pennant, but came up short in the World Series. However, there is a big difference between taking the Tigers at +250 now versus +1300 back in March.
