I would imagine that this rivalry could be a bit more one-sided than many of the others that are being played this weekend. By one-sided I mean that there are significantly more fans of the Dodgers than the Angels. It is not truly a battle of Los Angeles versus Orange County, as most in Southern California realize that the Dodgers are the premiere team and the Angels are much lower on the totem pole of fandom in SoCal.
However, from a player’s standpoint, it could mean that the Angels players come into this matchup with a bit more of a chip on the shoulder style. This is one of the rare series for the Angels, where many people will be paying attention.
