It almost seems like destiny that these teams could meet in the first round of the playoffs. While NBA and TV execs would love to see this star studded Curry-Bron-Luka-Butler matchup take place in either the Western Conference semifinals or finals, these teams are only a half-game away from meeting in the first round.
Of course that would be a bit of a disappointment to the execs as this series would draw eyes from both the hardcore and casual NBA fans. It would likely pull in some non-NBA fans as well due to the names involved as well as the high stakes nature of the playoffs.
No teams in the West are guaranteed to make a deep playoff run. So if I were an executive, I think my thought would be: Although not ideal, it is best that these teams meet at some point than not at all.
