The two hottest teams in 2025 will meet in the NBA Finals and neither is a so-called star player driven Superteam. These teams didn’t go out an overspend on high-priced free agents in the hopes of purchasing a championship. Instead, the Pacers and Thunder have developed a couple star level players and deep rosters.
Deep rosters being the key piece here. While current MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton’s name are starting to break into the mainstream, make no mistake about it that OKC and Indiana are here because of their teams, not a couple star players.
