The San Diego Padres travel to the Northside of Chicago for the Cubs home opener in what is expected to be a good year for both teams. The Padres remain one of two undefeated teams in the majors along with the Dodgers. The Cubs are currently a half-game behind St. Louis in the NL Central.
Now it is far too early to say that both rivalries in the Padres-Dodgers and Cardinals-Cubs are on separate collision courses. However, it is certainly fun to dream about it.
On a side note, this is one of the matchups I was able to see during my time at spring training in Arizona. Let’s just hope there’s a bit more action in this game than the one I witnessed last month. It was still a very good time though.
